Are the uv - mattress cleaning hoovers any good?

In a word, if they are the cheaper ones priced between £75 – £150, then No. How can they be for that money. We have tried ones in this price range and unfortunately while they provide some suction, it is limited and they are weak. Also we found the vibration plates limited and lacking effectiveness. Not a sensible way to spend your money.

Should you remove carpet for hardwood floor?

Replacing carpet for hardwood would help but it is expensive. Will the cost of the work be worth it? Also, you may find that you will need to hoover more often now as the dust and allergen particles have no pile to settle into now and instead will just gather on the hard surface & get airborne and disturbed easier now.

Well it depends. They will control the breeding of Dust Mites and help reduce their population but there are some issues. Firstly, it will take several weeks before there is a noticeable impact in the dust mite population levels – its not instantaneous. Secondly and perhaps most importantly, if you already have an allergy to dust mites then you are allergic to the waste they create, therefore controlling the population won’t help unless you take steps to remove or neutralise the allergens they have created.

No, they don’t. They are microscopic creatures that feed on dead skin cells and are not blood feeding. They can however cause allergic reactions and symptoms like skin rashes, sneezing, and itchy eyes. These reactions are triggered by powerful proteins in the dust mite’s faeces.
